War Room – Horticulture Department, Lalbagh

War Room- self-funded call center as a service unit was setup by Vandhe Bharatham Foundation worked during lockdown period involving 30 volunteers.

In continuation of the process of supplying fruits and vegetables, especially perishable fruits to the customers in lock-down period with an objective of setting up war room to help farmers between departments and public, when marketing was totally shut down in the situation even normal citizen is struggling to get fruits and vegetables, especially in apartments, residential welfare associations etc. Vandhe Bharatham foundation proposed horticulture Department for setting up of war room.

It is self-funded call-centre as a service, with about 30 volunteers operating in Dr MH Marigowda Memorial Hall, Lalbagh, Bangalore, with 24x7 help line 8495 99 8495, directly connect the Farmers & the Consumers. About 100 people from backend were supported this process by taking calls from stressed farmers connected apartment communities where they can come and sell their produce. War room was scheduled trucks loaded with fruits and vegetables to assist HOPCOMS in scheduling the Fruits and Vegetable trucks to all the apartments in Bangalore in coordination with Bangalore Apartment Federation.

After which HOPCOMS added about 50 vehicles to the existing fleet of 14 vehicles (2.5 tons to 3 Tons each). Each vehicle covered one or two apartment complexes per day and begun the day by 7.30am. Request raised by all these apartments where we have supplied already to repeat the supply, at least TWICE a week, regularly.
